The story behind the Mary & Moses Tee began long before Ave Atelier existed.
At the time, I was learning how to create a line of my own, my best friend Ben was going through a difficult time.
I told him he should create one too.
So we started dreaming things up.
His line wasn’t going to be religious. It was something entirely his own – a little Grateful Dead, a little Wall St, a little men’s fashion.
He wanted to call it Moses.
But Ben passed unexpectedly.
And sometime afterward, as I began creating Ave, I knew I wanted Moses to exist somehow.
So I put him beside Mary.
Mary was mine.
Moses was Ben’s.
What I didn’t expect was to discover how much they belonged together.
Two people called by God.
Two people asked to trust something they couldn’t fully understand.
Two lives changed by a yes.
The Mary & Moses Tee was born.
And then I found out Moses was actually Ben’s childhood dog.
Well played, Ben.
